Julia caught this bass with me on Lake Elmo. Despite being threatened by the fact that the Lake Elmo park reserve closes just after dark, we continued on fishing into the night and she caught this big bass. Julia caught this bass on a number 9 floating Rapala that is very effective early in the year. This number 9 was effective for Julia because she used it with 6lb test line. The light line enabled her to cast further and to keep the lure diving a bit deeper. This was Julia’s first nice catch with me, but I’m sure there will be more to come.
