spinner bait was on. I mean really on. I got onto a bar with some
CABBAGE weeds on it. These weeds were thick and the best way to blast
through them was with a SPINNERBAIT. I caught this fish while I was
guiding a client. He insisted that I was to fish with him so I did
not feel bad about catching it. Furthermore, he caught himself a 37.5inch
Northern about 40 yards away from this one.
I caught this fish about 5:00pm. I could not believe how shallow it
was in the middle of a bright sunny day. I caught this 45-inch musky
and then about five casts later I caught a 41-inch tiger musky. We
then checked the other side of the cabbage bar and my client caught
the northern. I guess you could say the fish were biting. We had several
other muskies follow are baits and we were shaking the rest of the
evening.
I caught it on a black custom made spinnerbait that I bought at the
musky expo. It was double bladed and worked well at high velocity.
The tiger musky was caught on a TOP RAIDER and the big northern was
caught on a white spinnerbait. What I learned from this day is to
ALWAYS recheck the shallows periodically throughout the fishing day
to make sure your trophy has not snuck up behind you.
