This one made my fall for 2003. The mission of entering the 10lb range was successfully completed. Everything from here on out will be a bonus for me. This has been an interesting fall for me because I haven’t been able to fish as much as usual. I am currently enrolled in five classes at the University of Minnesota and I am trying to finish my two degrees. I have to choose my days to fish wisely. I have to rely heavily on my guide of weather and water conditions.

I caught this fish on Thursday October 30th 2003. I caught it in pool 3 of the Mississippi River. There were overcast conditions with a blustery North West wind. I caught the fish over some rocks in about 10 feet of water. I was trolling a number nine black and silver shad rap along a productive bank that has been good in the past. Although I didn’t catch any other fish that night, my night and day were made when I seen the scale cross into the 10lb range. This fish was 29.5 inches long and was considerably thick.
